I created a simple Home Assistant add-on to host and run Firestorm for added convenience of discovering and accessing the Pixelblaze controllers on our network.

I’m currently hosting the add on repository that only hosts Firestorm here ([GitHub - NZSmartie/firestorm-ha: Pixelblaze Firestorm Add On for Home Assistant](https://github.com/NZSmartie/firestorm-ha)). @wizard I’m happy to transfer ownership of the Github repository over to you if you’d like that.

* * *

For your convenience, you may also quickly add the repository to Home Assistant which will allow you to install the add on.

[![Open your Home Assistant instance and show the add add-on repository dialog with a specific repository URL pre-filled.](https://my.home-assistant.io/badges/supervisor_add_addon_repository.svg)](https://my.home-assistant.io/redirect/supervisor_add_addon_repository/?repository_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub%2Ecom%2FNZSmartie%2Ffirestorm%2Dha)

After adding the repository, follow these steps:

1. Head to Settings within Home Assistant and open up Add-ons.

2. Open up the Add-on store.

3. Locate the Pixelblaze Firestorm repository and open the Firestorm Add-on.

4. Install!

5. Once installed, Enable the Show in sidebar and click Start!

That’s it!

Does Firestorm allow creation of a Light Controller in Home Assistant to turn a PixelBlaze on/off, control the brightness and control the Pattern?

Apologies, but I don’t see how to do that at present?

Thanks,

This is amazing.
The only thing left that would make it work perfectly in Home Assistant would be the ability to control the Pixelblaze through MQTT for example (to integrate it to a dashboard or automations).
I have no idea how to do this but I would love to help make it happen.

I just brought the homeassistant-pixelblaze (using a hass custom component) up to date:

> This is a custom component to allow control of Pixelblaze devices in Home Assistant.

Works great if you want a pixelblaze controller to show up as a control.

Awesome! I had this on my backburner for a while now, and had been wanting to take a crack at it. I’ll take it for a spin when I get a chance, but wanted to say I really appreciate the updated fork!
