It would be great if the pixel mapper showed the running animation so that you could preview your animations.

Agreed. Right now, the mapper animation spins (you can hack the js code to stop it)
as it runs a rainbow pattern and highlights each pixel in order, which is really helpful in general)
Your suggestion of a easy way to show the current pattern (checkbox?) would be handy for sure.
