Agreed. Right now, the mapper animation spins (you can [hack the js code](https://forum.electromage.com/t/manually-adjusting-spin-in-mapper/640/2) to stop it)  
as it runs a rainbow pattern and highlights each pixel in order, which is really helpful in general)

Your suggestion of a easy way to show the current pattern (checkbox?) would be handy for sure.
