The Auto Off function on my device worked ok last Winter but does not appear to be working this time around. I mean the timer that is enabled under Settings.
I have it Enabled and set to Turn of at 20:00 and to Turn on at 16:00. This is with version 2.29.
Time Zone Europe/London.
Must be something simple but I can’t find the problem. Help appreciated.
If it’s showing up in the discovery service, then it should have time set OK. It gets time in reply to discover requests.
You can try loading this pattern up in the editor, enable vars watcher, and see if your hours, minutes look right. If so, then your PB has time set, and auto-off should work.
If you don’t have a 2D pixel map, then thats normal. The key part of that function that would be useful is for checking that the date/time is getting set properly.
Hours var says 11.56. I am in London and the time here is 20:55. But pattern selection is ok and the pb is discoverable. RGB Clock does not update my 1d led string - which I guess is expected.
Think I can see a clue about what is going on here.
The PixelBlaze is discoverable from my Pixel phone. It is not discoverable from my desktop so it is probably out wifi range from my home server.
Both the phone and the desktop are connected to my home network. On my phone I can see the PixelBlaze as an unlocked wifi network - but it is not shown as being connected.
Somehow my phone is maintaining a connection to the PixelBlaze but is not providing it with a broad internet service - hence no date/time.
I did not think a phone could maintain two wifi connections at the same time.
