Found a small but decent sized heart shaped mirror on Amazon. Plastic all the way, including mirrors. Got one of the mirrors out (glued in, carefully worked free), and removed the battery socket, leaving a hollow bottom, removed the 29 red LEDs and replaced with 30 5mm wide ws2812s. Could have done 29, but for any clock stuff, 30 is so much better, so I have a pointy-er heart crevice, instead of following the curve with one led.
Viewable mirrors on both sides, so it’s a nice desk or tabletop piece.
I’ll probably put a v2 into this long term, as it doesn’t need huge horsepower.
So I’ll be playing with 1D patterns that work well as inner lit “circles” for a bit.
