Can you put 2 different data wires in the data output? Probably a dumb question.
If I understand your question correctly: yes, at least with APA102-style LEDs it’s possible (maybe not wise?) to drive two identical LED strips simultaneously from one output signal. Twist together the two strips’ clock inputs, data inputs, and grounds. Handle power appropriately.
Not a dumb question! @jonct is right, and I wanted to add it also works for WS28xx.
We’ve discussed a few cases where it can start to glitch on the forums here - try searching for “multiple strips output” and you’ll find a few threads talking about signal reflection, etc.
