Hi all, ive not done much with pixelblaze/rgb led strips so far, but a couple of lights i made for parties have attracted the attention of a friend who runs a beach club. He has asked me to propose a complete and original lighting setup for the indoor “club” part, which regularly hosts fairly famous djs and has a capacity of around 1500 people. very exciting! one of my proposals is to have led strips on aluminium strips, running the width of the cieling and about 15cm below it, pointing up so the light is reflected down from the cieling indirectly.
these strips would be repeated every half metre or so along the length of the club space, in effect turning the cieling into a low resolution screen. The possible lighting effects would be nearly endless. however it seems driving 50+ led strips, all synchronised, is not trivial.
Any pointers as to the best way to approach this would be most appreciated. a couple of personal thoughts:
the led strips could be very “low density” i dont need an led every cm of they are nice and bright.
It would be nice if i could control things from a laptop, I remeber seeing here a way to output a video file to a pixelblaze using python, given it would essentially be a screen this might be a good feature to use.
