I recently inherited 5v a LED pebble type fairly wire. The LEDs are definitely addressable as they work with their controller. However when I try to connect them to the PixelBlaze only the first LED lights up and none of the LED types in the setting work. Any help identifying these would be greatly appreciated.
If you search for “seed pixels”, you’ll find plenty of examples of these LEDs. There’s only 3 wires so they’re almost certainly WS281x LEDs, but could be either 5V or 12V. Are you sure you have them wired up correctly? The wire with the black dots is the 5V (or 12V) wire, the middle wire is data, the bottom wire is ground. Check their own controller with a multimeter to see what voltage it outputs if you’re not sure of the correct voltage for them.
Thanks. It is definitely 5v as the original controller was usb. So after a lot of experimenting, it turned out the first pixel was somehow corrupted. Once I cut that one off both strings worked. Very strange.
Thanks everyone for all your help
