PB sending UDP packets to 255.255.255.255:1889?

I was taking a look at my router’s connections page today and noticed that my Pixelblaze V2 is continuously sending UDP packets to 255.255.255.255:1889. It’s responsive to its web interface. I did have a power outage this morning. I’m not worried but is this normal? Weird? Thanks!

It’s normal – 255.255.255.255 is the “limited broadcast” address - meant to be receivable by all devices on the local network, and port 1889 is Pixelblaze’s discovery/time sync port.

The Pixelblaze sends and listens for these packets to enable programs like Firestorm to tightly synchronize clocks between Pixelblazes on a network, which allows synchronization of patterns running on multiple Pixelblazes.
