Pixelblaze broke down, no connection, LEDs cycling

If you are seeing symptoms like have been described in this thread (cycling status LEDs that do not stay solid), please check out all of these troubleshooting steps:

Cycling LEDs often mean there’s a power issue and Pixelblaze is rebooting.

  1. It could be the power supply, or that the LEDs are drawing too much power. Powering it with too high a voltage or too low a voltage can cause these symptoms. Try removing the LEDs and powering Pixelblaze from USB.
  2. In some cases, config corruption or incompatibility with certain WiFi equipment can cause this issue. Try moving Pixelblaze away from wifi and it will go back in to setup mode. Try setting it up in AP mode. If that works, you can try to reconnect to your local WiFi again. For setup mode, power Pixelblaze then hold the button for 5s, then release. The status LEDs should blink. In V2+ versions the orange LED flashes 3 times then go dark when in setup mode.
  3. Try rebooting your WiFi router and rebooting Pixelblaze.
