SK9822 strip won't light up

About a year ago I bought a SK9822 strip from here (HDR Addressable LED strip - SK9822 (APA102 Compatible) – ElectroMage Shop) to go with a project I was working on. I didn’t manage to get it working immediately and have just finally got around to working on it again.

When I boot the Pixelblaze, the LEDs won’t respond at all as I try to run different patterns. When I unplug the Pixelblaze, the first few dozen LEDs light up in seemingly random colors (mostly white). I’m injecting 5V power from a 150W PSU at both ends of the strip. I’ve confirmed that my settings look sane (proper LED type and count, BGR, 2 MHz).

What am I doing wrong here?

You’re sure you have data connected to data and clock connected to clock?
